Police in Bauchi apprehend ATBU student found with a revolver and cartridge, leading to the university’s closure due to student protests following a fatal stabbing.
Security intervenes to prevent protesting students from causing disorder by blocking highways.
Bauchi Police spokesperson, SP Ahmed Muhammed Wakil, confirms the arrest in an official statement.
The suspect claims to have obtained the firearm from Zadog for N12,000, citing self-protection as the motive.
Following the arrest, the Commissioner of Police directs the suspect’s transfer to SCID for further investigation and potential court charges.
The Commissioner calls on parents, guardians, and leaders to ensure their children contribute to maintaining peace and order.
