Dr. Segun Sanni, the CEO of 1472 FC, expressed his determination to have the club competing in the prestigious Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) in the upcoming season during the unveiling ceremony of the club, a national second-tier league team.
The announcement was made at a grand event that introduced the club to fans and prominent figures from the Surulere area, including Nollywood personalities such as Segun Arinze, Desmond Elliot, and Surulere LGA Chairman Bamidele Yusuf.
Sanni emphasized their commitment to establishing a model club that excels in football management and prioritizes player welfare, all with the goal of reaching the NPFL in the next season.
In addition, he revealed plans for the club to participate in activities in Italy, starting on Tuesday.
Sanni also highlighted the club’s careful player recruitment process, stating that they represent Nigeria as a whole and are chosen based on merit.
1472 FC was founded by Dozy Mmobuosi, a FINTECH billionaire with various business interests, including agro firm Tingo Foods and Tingo Media.
Notably, the Dozy Mmobuosi Foundation, associated with the founder, provides free tests and treatment for prostate cancer as a medical outreach organization.
