Charlie Munger, the enduring friend and business companion of renowned US investor Warren Buffett, peacefully passed away at the age of 99.

Berkshire Hathaway, where Munger served as vice chairman under Buffett for many years, confirmed the news, expressing gratitude for Munger’s inspirational role in the company’s success.

Warren Buffett acknowledged Munger’s pivotal contributions, citing his wisdom and involvement in shaping Berkshire Hathaway into the massive conglomerate it is today.

The 60-year friendship between Buffett and Munger, both originating from Omaha, Nebraska, saw Munger joining Berkshire Hathaway in 1978.

Despite Munger’s more modest $2.6 billion wealth compared to Buffett, his influence on investment perspectives and commitment to quality companies left a lasting legacy.

Munger, who never officially retired, would have celebrated his 100th birthday on January 1, 2024.

In a 2017 interview, Buffett credited Munger with positively shaping their investment approach, emphasizing their enduring bond and the absence of any arguments throughout their friendship.
