LAMATA plans to commence the construction of interchanges at Marina and Mile 2 in January 2024, as announced by Managing Director Abimbola Akinajo during the Lagos Transport Fest.
Akinajo emphasized the operation of all transport modes at these interchanges, highlighting a focus on non-motorized transport in future projects.
The Marina interchange is designed to facilitate seamless movement across water, rail, and road.
Integration strategies encompass local integration, systems integration, and intelligent transportation systems, allowing unified payments via the Cowry Card.
The Marina station includes a BRT bus terminal, last-mile buses, bike parking, and a transit-oriented development featuring a cinema, offices, and restaurants.
