Continuous HIV Infections In Oyo State-70 New Cases Identified In A Month.

During a World AIDS Day walk in Ibadan, Mr. Faith Olawale, coordinator of NEPWHAN, revealed that contrary to public perception, Nigeria still experiences daily occurrences of new HIV infections, with 70 cases detected in Oyo State within a month.

Emphasizing the need for community leadership to halt the virus’s spread, he called for increased collaboration among NEPWHAN members.

Olawale also highlighted the neglect of people living with HIV by the Oyo State government and urged empowerment for HIV peer counseling and support.
