Couple Sentenced For Drug Trafficking In Lagos.

Mr. Ikechukwu Okafor and his wife, Ifeyinwa Okafor, residents of Ago Palace Way, Okota, Lagos State, have been recently found guilty by the Federal High Court in Lagos and sentenced to a two-year jail term for unlawfully dealing with 19.12 kilograms of Methamphetamine.

The couple admitted guilt to charges of conspiracy, unlawful dealing, and unlawful possession of the prohibited substance filed by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.

The offenses occurred on October 5, 2023, at their Okota residence, leading to convictions under sections 14, 19, and 11(c) of the NDLEA Act Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

Despite their lawyer’s plea for leniency, Justice Nicholas Oweibo imposed a 24-month prison sentence and a N300 million fine for each, totaling N1.5 million for all counts.
