Aliko Dangote, Africa’s wealthiest individual, announced that his refinery has obtained a license to refine over 300,000 barrels of Nigerian crude daily.
The refinery, set to commence gasoline production soon, prioritizes utilizing Nigerian crude for its initial operations.
Despite missing the initial production target in August, Dangote is confident that the refinery will start operating “very very soon.”
The focus is on supplying gasoline to Nigeria before expanding exports to the West African region. Devakumar Edwin, the Executive Director of Dangote Group, mentioned that the refinery is expected to receive its first crude oil cargo in approximately two weeks.
