The DHQ has officially confirmed that airstrikes in Niger State resulted in the elimination of a sought-after terrorist leader and 38 accomplices.

Additionally, the military’s air assets conducted successful strikes, leading to the demise of 38 terrorist commanders, the arrest of 159 individuals, and the neutralization of key figures, including a renowned bomb expert named Machika and Dogo Gide’s younger brother.

Among those eliminated were notorious terrorists Haro, Dan Muhammadu, and Kachalla Ali Kawaje, responsible for the kidnapping of Federal University Gusau students.

The armed forces are intensifying efforts to track down remaining terrorist leaders, emphasizing their commitment to locate and engage them wherever they may be hiding.

In a related development, the military arrested Uchechukwu Akpa, a commander of IPOB and ESN, along with three sub-commanders, during a raid at Christ the King Catholic Church Ameta Mgbowo in Awgu LGA, Enugu State.

This strategic move thwarted the group’s plans to take over the leadership of IPOB/ESN and attack troop locations. Akpa, second-in-command to the recently apprehended Chocho, sustained a gunshot wound while attempting to escape.

Furthermore, 66 suspected oil thieves were arrested, and 89 hostages were rescued, with the recovery of 67 weapons, 1,194 rounds of ammunition, and seized stolen products worth N161,232,500.

The military’s haul includes various firearms, ammunition, magazines, as well as vehicles, mobile phones, motorcycles, and laptops.
