In the latest setback during the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe, frustrated fans are once again expressing their discontent with the Super Eagles, deeming their performance a disgraceful showing.
The team struggled to a 1-1 draw against the Warriors in the second qualifier, adding only one point to their total, having previously drawn against Lesotho.
Despite making six changes to the lineup, including the debut of Nathan Tella, Coach Peseiro’s adjustments failed to secure a victory.
The Eagles, unlike their dominant display against Lesotho, found themselves on the back foot, missing crucial chances, and conceding a 35-yard free-kick goal.
Despite halftime substitutions, the team faced challenges, including a disallowed penalty and a resilient Zimbabwean defense.
Kelechi Iheanacho salvaged a goal in the 67th minute, but the overall performance left fans dissatisfied.
Currently second in the group standings, Nigeria looks ahead to the next qualifiers in June 2024 against South Africa and Benin Republic.
