The Federal Government, under the leadership of Education Minister Tahir Mamman, has expressed its commitment to addressing the issue of declining school enrollment in the country.
This announcement came during the Minister’s visit to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, where he commended Governor Umo Éno for his efforts in improving basic education infrastructure.
In a press statement released by the Government House Press Unit in Uyo, Minister Mamman, while touring the renovated Christ the King School in Uyo, praised the state government’s initiatives and described them as creating an enticing environment to boost school enrollment.
He emphasized the need for cooperation between local, state, and federal authorities to achieve this goal, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s vision to eliminate out-of-school children.
Governor Éno also stressed the importance of collaboration between the state and federal governments in revitalizing primary education and healthcare.
He expressed his intention to replicate the model school concept across all 31 Local Government Areas, with a focus on teacher training and overall enhancement of primary education.
Additionally, he emphasized the significance of education as the foundation for rural development and highlighted his administration’s commitment to improving primary schools and healthcare facilities to drive rural development.
