Contrary to media reports, the EFCC denies that ex-minister Sadiya Umar-Farouq ignored their invitation.
The commission’s spokesperson, Oyewale, clarified that Umar-Farouq, citing health challenges, sent a letter explaining her inability to attend.
Despite her absence, she kept the commission informed through her lawyer, who visited to provide additional details.
The EFCC acknowledges her plea and anticipates her cooperation in attending the invitation at the earliest convenience.
Oyewale emphasized that considering her compliance through legal representation, an arrest might not be necessary.
