The arraignment of former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, faced a delay at the Federal Capital Territory High Court due to an ongoing strike by the Trade Union Congress and Nigerian Labour Congress.
The strike, triggered by the alleged assault on NLC president Joe Ajaero in Imo State on November 1, 2023, led to the postponement of Emefiele’s case, originally scheduled for Wednesday.
Despite the Attorney-General’s counsel, Oyin Koleoso, opposing bail during the November 9 proceedings, Justice Adeniji granted bail to Emefiele with the condition that he must appear for arraignment on Wednesday.
