Yussuf Fasanya, a former military service member, is demanding compensation from the Lagos State Government after his house was demolished for an agricultural processing hub.
Fasanya, left homeless and in agony, declined a monetary offer to vacate his property.
The demolition, carried out by RHEMA Project BCEGI on May 2, 2023, prompted Fasanya to appeal for assistance, citing the lack of proper notice.
Despite a lawyer’s plea for compensation, the government claims Fasanya was illegally occupying the land, while Fasanya and his lawyer insist he lawfully acquired the property in 1976.
The ongoing dispute revolves around the construction of the Lagos State Food Security Systems and Central Logistics Hub by RHEMA Project BCEGI.
