FAMUYIWA APPEALS TO RESIDENTS ON STALLING OF ROADS PROJECT BY RAIN.

Responding to concerns in some quarters to the stoppage of mass road grading program embarked upon by the Famuyiwa’s administration, the Council Chairman Hon. David Oladapo Famuyiwa has appealed to the residents to be patient, because the exercise has to be put on hold since the commencement of the raining season.

The Council Mayor made this appeal through a release by the Public Affairs Unit of the LCDA, Friday 7th June 2024.

Famuyiwa explained that the LCDA embarked upon fixing major streets and road across the LCDA that are interconnected to majors roads so as to reduce traffic on the major roads and reduce commuting time.

He however regretted the inability to complete some of the roads before the rain commences.

He stressed that this was due to the early onset of the raining season, noting that it is not appropriate to grade roads during raining season as it will further deteriorate the road condition.

Famuyiwa assured that the massive road grading project will resume before the end of the year when the wet season is over.

He believed that this palliative on the roads will relief residents and commuters of some stress as well as boost business activities which will in-turn help mitigate the economic hardship faced.

Some of the streets graded includes Shobowale Street, Moshalashi, Alagbado; Popoola Street, Abule-Egba; Aderupopo Street, Oke-Odo; Balogun Tajudeen Street, Aboru; Irepodun Street, Aboru; Quadri Street, Aboru; Governor Road, Aboru; Omowunmi Street, Moshalashi, Alagbado;
Oluwo Adejobi, Oke-Odo; Anjorin Street, Hamadiya; Lawal Street, Iyana Ipaja; Idowu Adeniji, Abule Egba and Adeleye Street, Iyana Ipaja.
