Dear Constituents,
It is with a glad heart that I address you today as the Executive Chairman of Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA on the 25th Anniversary of democratic rule in our dear country, Nigeria.
June 12 remains one of the historic moments of our nationhood. It is the restoration of democracy in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
As we honour the struggles and sacrifices of our patriots – the only befitting compensation for their efforts would be a truly great, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
We must remember the values that underpin our democratic nation – Liberty, Justice, and Equality for all.
Democracy is a journey and not a destination as a lot more sacrifice is required from us as citizens to ensure the country gets the best out of its democratic rule.
We may not have reached the envisaged height neither have we attained the best, but we surely have made some progress as a nation.
With our determination, consistency and active participation in the democratic process, we would reach our promised land.
We must work together, united in purpose, to build a stronger, more inclusive, and more prosperous society.
This is why my administration is committed to providing quality education, healthcare, secure environment and infrastructure to all our citizens and ensuring that their voices are heard.
The reason we have from time to time given out palliatives and supports to help cushion the effects of the economy.
We will continue in this regard, not just with food or cash but also support parents by giving out free UTME and GCE forms.
The State Government has also not relented in subsidizing essential services.
May I therefore enjoin every Nigerian to continue to trust in the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration and not to despair in the face of the present and daunting economic and socio-political challenges but rather remain steadfast for our democracy to continue to take shape.
On behalf of the government and the good people of Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA, I congratulate Nigerians on the occasion of the Year 2024 Democracy Day Celebration. May our democracy continue to flourish for generations to come.
