The tragic incident in Santos, Lagos. Residents express dismay after a woman lost her life when a truck struck her during a police operation to enforce the motorcycle ban in the area.
The incident occurred in Santos Avenue, Abule Egba, as police encountered resistance from motorcycle riders.
In an effort to disperse the crowd and ensure the safety of officers, tear gas was deployed.
Unfortunately, a female tricycle passenger panicked, leapt from the vehicle, and was fatally hit by an oncoming tipper truck.
The driver fled the scene, but the truck has been recovered. The police are in contact with the victim’s family and are actively investigating the incident.
