Federal Government Targets 1.9 Million Barrels Per Day in Aggressive Campaign Against Oil Theft

The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, asserts that significant progress has been made in combating oil theft, with hopes of reaching a daily crude oil production of 1.9 million barrels by year-end.

Matawalle highlights the success in raising production from one million to 1.7 million barrels per day through government initiatives and military efforts against oil thieves in the Niger Delta region.

He emphasizes ongoing actions, including operations, arrests, and the destruction of illegal installations, while also highlighting investments in modern weapons to curb crimes like banditry and oil theft.
