In recent weeks, the Federal Government has proactively engaged with major trade unions, including the TUC, NLC, and ASUU, to address workers’ concerns and prevent an industrial crisis in Nigeria.
Stakeholders applaud these efforts, emphasizing the importance of dialogue in resolving disputes. Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, reaffirms the government’s commitment to implementing agreements and assures ongoing support for workers’ welfare.
The minister highlights initiatives like the National Social Investment Programme and N-Power Programme, aiming to create jobs and improve workers’ lives.
Onyejeocha emphasizes the significance of social dialogue, collective bargaining, and capacity building in fostering a harmonious working environment and ensuring workers are equipped for the global economy.
She underscores the government’s dedication to sustaining open communication and collaboration with unions.
