In Kurmi village, Bakori Local Government Area, the Katsina State Police Command apprehended five individuals, including Sharhabilu Dahiru, Abubakar Tukur, Kasamanu Abdullahi, Abdulrahman Shu’aibu, and Sulaiman Sanusi, all aged 20, for the illegal possession of AK-47 rifles.
The arrest, made by operatives from Bakori Divisional Police Headquarters in collaboration with vigilante members on patrol, followed credible intelligence.
According to Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, the command’s spokesman, the suspects confessed to stealing the firearms from Jamilu Lawal’s residence in Kakumi village, Bakori LGA.
Lawal was subsequently invited for further investigation. The police confirmed that all suspects are in custody as the investigation progresses.
