Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is set to lead a two-day conference at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, tackling the impact of Western liberal democracy on African development in light of recent coups in West and Central Africa.

The Africa Progress Group (APG) aims to draft a governance blueprint tailored to African contexts, fostering transparency, accountability, and development.

With a membership comprising past African leaders and private sector figures, the APG, chaired by Obasanjo, operates uniquely in influencing decision-makers globally to drive equitable and sustainable development in Africa.

The conference promises insightful discussions on reshaping democracy to align with African values and experiences. Quite an ambitious undertaking!
