According to a statement from the command’s official account, the leader of the gang confessed to the crime, admitting, This is my second time participating in a robbery operation.
We strangled her to death in the Apata area of Ibadan, knowing she recognized me as one of her neighbors. The fear of being apprehended by security operatives led us to make this decision.
The statement revealed that the police recovered several items from the suspects, including 18 cars, a DAF trailer, 2,137 cartons of Maggi, an electricity generating set, four live cartridges, 64 mobile phones, a master key, and a cash sum of N820,000.
Additionally, a human head severed from a recently exhumed corpse and a pot containing ritualistic substances were among the items confiscated.
The suspects have been transferred to the state criminal investigation department for further questioning.
