Rivers State Governor Fubara administered the oath of office to former Speaker Ehie, appointing him as his Chief of Staff at Government House.
Additionally, Fubara inaugurated five Special Advisers, including Hon. Ben Eke, the former chairman of Obia/Akpor LGA, and Dr. Darlington Orji, the former Chief of Staff of Ikwerre LGA. Other appointees include Barrister Fiberesima, Engr. Bariene, and Ohia Prince.
Ehie resigned from his position as Speaker of a Fubara-aligned House faction and relinquished his House of Assembly seat on December 31, 2023.
During the swearing-in ceremony at Government House, Port Harcourt, Fubara cautioned the new appointees against undermining his administration, emphasizing his reliance on divine intervention to address challenges.
He emphasized that governance entails delivering services despite obstacles and underscored their appointments as evidence of proactive problem-solving measures.
Fubara urged the appointees to view their roles as opportunities to contribute meaningfully to governance and cautioned against using their positions to antagonize others, emphasizing his belief in divine intervention.
