To obtain a Nigerian international passport through NIS, requirements differ for first-time applicants and renewals. First-time applicants need an original birth certificate, a local government identification letter, two passport-sized photos, a completed application form, and proof of payment.
For renewals, provide the expired passport and renewal fee payment proof.
The application process involves creating an account, completing the online form, uploading documents, scheduling an appointment, visiting the passport office, submitting biometrics, paying the fee, and collecting the passport.
Ensure accuracy in the application form, and when scheduling an appointment, bring all necessary documents and fees.
After collecting your passport, verify details, check photo quality, and ensure security features are intact.
Report any errors to NIS and keep the passport in a secure place, renewing well in advance of expiry. Be mindful when using your Nigerian international passport.
