Trial proceedings, involving Ibeto MD and others, face delays as Lagos Attorney General takes control.
The EFCC had planned multiple arraignments for Ibeto over a alleged N4.8 billion fraud, but he remained absent in court.
Following his non-appearance, the trial Justice issued a bench warrant, and now, the Lagos State Attorney-General steps in, citing a petition from the defendant.
The EFCC argues against this move, asserting that the charges are based on federal laws.
The court, considering the complexities, adjourns the case until January 29, 2024, to resolve the issues of legal representation and prosecution.
