#ImoDecides2023 – Hope Uzodimma Secures Victory, Sweeping All 27 LGAs with 540,308 Votes

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, representing the All Progressives Congress, emerged triumphant in the November 11 governorship election, securing a total of 540,308 votes across all 27 Local Government Areas, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The collation process has concluded, with Uzodimma leading decisively. His closest rival, Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party, trailed with 71,503 votes, while Athan Achonu of the Labour Party garnered 64,081 votes.

Prof. Abayomi Fasina, the Returning Officer and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oye, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state, announced a brief break before computing the final result and declaring the official winner.

Amidst the victory, the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party have jointly called for a complete annulment of the election, alleging collusion between security agents and INEC staff to facilitate election irregularities by APC members.

  1. Hope Uzodimma (APC): 540,308 votes
  2. Samuel Anyanwu (PDP): 71,503 votes
  3. Athan Achonu (LP): 64,081 votes
  4. Tony Ejiogu (APGA): 6,392 votes
  5. Jack Ogunewe (AA): 5,756 votes
