On Wednesday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) awarded Certificates of Return to winners of the rerun and by-elections held across 26 states nationwide last Saturday.
Seven political parties secured seats in both the National Assembly and state Houses of Assembly.
The presentation ceremony, held at the INEC headquarters in Abuja, saw senators-elect and newly elected House of Representatives members receiving their Certificates of Return.
Among the recipients were Prof. Anthony Okorie of the All Progressives Congress (Ebonyi South Senatorial District, Ebonyi), Pam Dachungyang of the Action Democratic Party (Plateau North Senatorial, Plateau), and Musa Mustapha of the APC (Yobe East Senatorial District, Yobe).
Newly elected House of Representatives members included Ifeanyi Ozokwe of the YPP party (Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Anambra state), Clara Nnabuife of the YPP party (Orumba North/Orumba South Federal Constituency, Anambra state), Ehindero Babatunde of the APC (Akoko North East/Akoko North-West Federal Constituency, Ondo state), and Daniel Ago of the LP party (Jos North/Basa Federal Constituency, Plateau state).
