Jigawa State Aims To Cultivate 150,000 Hectares Of Wheat By 2025.

During the wheat farming flag-off ceremony for the 2022/2023 season, Governor Alhaji Umar Namadi of Jigawa State announced plans to cultivate 150,000 hectares of wheat by the next season.

Stressing agriculture’s role in poverty reduction, the Governor pledged government support for farmers, including access to improved seeds and markets.

The announcement, conveyed by Zainab Rabo Ringim, Special Assistant Media to the Governor, emphasized the state’s commitment to agricultural development, with plans to expand crop diversity and enhance food security.

Governor Namadi also praised President Bola Tinubu’s efforts in national food security and outlined state initiatives to bolster agricultural productivity and infrastructure.

He underscored the sector’s potential to drive economic growth, advocating for supportive policies, investment in research, and promotion of locally produced foods.
