Heavy rainfall has caused severe flooding in the Iyanaba area of Lagos, leaving commuters and motorists stranded. Videos shared on social media reveal the extent of the flooding, with roads submerged and vehicles immobilized.
The Iyana-Iworo, Olopo Meji area leading to the 3rd Mainland Bridge is also affected, resulting in gridlock and long traffic jams.
The Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted thunderstorms and rains across the country from Wednesday to Friday, with high prospects of continuous rains in Lagos, which may lead to further flooding.
The agency has warned of morning thunderstorms and rains in parts of Lagos and other southern states, with more thunderstorms and rains expected in the afternoon and evening.
The flood has disrupted daily activities, with many taking to social media to share their experiences and frustrations.
