Lionel Messi, fresh off his eighth Ballon d’Or triumph, shared his elation about the achievement and its profound significance, closely tied to Argentina’s recent World Cup triumph in Qatar.
He underscored the World Cup as the ultimate trophy, a dream realized for both himself and his homeland.
His exceptional performance in Qatar secured the Ballon d’Or, overcoming formidable contenders like Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, who secured the second and third positions, respectively.
Messi downplayed thoughts of future Ballon d’Or victories, emphasizing his current focus on the present and eagerly anticipating the forthcoming Copa America.
In retrospect of his time at Paris Saint-Germain, which didn’t align with his initial expectations, Messi expressed gratitude for the city and the overall experience while acknowledging that the football aspect didn’t unfold as anticipated.
At present, Messi is relishing the day-to-day moments and eagerly looking forward to the upcoming Copa America, without making concrete commitments to long-term plans or potential future Ballon d’Or accolades.
