Lobi Stars Maintain Lead in NPFL, Remo Stars Rise to Second Place

Lobi Stars assert their dominance in the Nigeria Premier Football League, securing the top spot with 17 points after a hard-fought 1-0 home victory against Sporting Lagos, courtesy of Chinedu Sunday’s 29th-minute strike. Meanwhile, Remo Stars showcase strength, claiming the second position with 15 points following a commanding 4-0 win over Gombe United, highlighted by Sikiru Alimi’s brace.

In other matches, Sunshine Stars face disappointment with a 2-2 draw against Enugu Rangers, Moses Omodumueke’s 81st-minute lead nullified by Emmanuel Jonas in the 90th minute. Rangers hold third place with 14 points, while Sunshine Stars reside in 13th place with nine points.

Elsewhere, Mansoor Saleh’s 47th-minute goal secures a victory for Katsina at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, while Kwara United salvages a point with Muhammed Alao’s last-minute goal against Shooting Stars, placing Shooting Stars fourth with 14 points and Kwara United 14th with nine points.

Plateau United claims their fourth home win, defeating Abia Warriors 3-1 at the New Jos Road Stadium. Goals from Christopher Nwaeze and Barnabas Daniel, along with a Jerry Ogu own goal, propel Plateau United to fifth place with 13 points, while Abia Warriors slip to seventh with 12 points.

Niger Tornadoes face disappointment again in a goalless draw against Bendel Insurance, who now occupy the sixth spot with 12 points from seven games.
