Ali Ndume, the Senate Chief Whip, has urged the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to prioritize monetary stability and inflation control over relocating its offices.
Ndume stands by his criticism of the CBN’s plans to move some offices from Abuja to Lagos, emphasizing that such relocation is not conducive to addressing crucial economic issues.
Despite facing media backlash and scrutiny towards his daughter, who works at the CBN, Ndume maintains that his family members have the right to employment in government institutions based on merit.
He asserts that his duty as a senator includes holding government accountable for its decisions and ensuring transparency in governance, regardless of personal or familial connections.
Ndume pledges to continue advocating for accountability and constructive criticism within the government, dismissing allegations of being anti-Yoruba by highlighting his family ties to the Yoruba community.
