NEMA and Sokoto SEMA are collaborating to provide food and essential supplies to the flood victims in Sokoto. The distribution started on Tuesday and is aimed at easing the hardships faced by the residents in the Kebbe Local Government Area.
Abubakar Abdullahi, SEMA’s Information Officer, shared this update in an official statement. Nasiru Kalambaina, the SEMA Special Adviser, expressed his gratitude to Sokoto SEMA for their swift assistance.
The beneficiaries are thankful for the timely relief from NEMA and the state government.
Furthermore, SEMA and NEMA’s joint operations office in Sokoto recently conducted an assessment of the banditry incidents in Sangi, Ungushi, Girkau, and Margai wards.
The assessment revealed that over 200 households were affected, resulting in tragic loss of life. Kebbe has expressed appreciation for the visit by the joint team, while Umar offered condolences and assured further actions based on the assessment report.
SEMA’s Director of Finance, Kabiru Garba, and NEMA Sokoto’s head of operations, Aminu Ambursa, coordinated and witnessed the assessment.
