Nigeria Pledges To Enhance Relations With United States.

Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, has committed to deepening bilateral relations with the United States in line with President Bola Tinubu’s foreign policy objectives.

Speaking at the 248th U.S. independence anniversary dinner in Abuja, Tuggar emphasized the significance of the Nigeria-U.S. Binational Cooperation Agreement.

He highlighted the strengthening of security ties, especially in counter-terrorism, and the collaboration in health sectors, including HIV/AIDS programs. U.S. Ambassador Richard Mills and Deputy Head of Mission David Greene underscored the importance of the Nigeria-U.S. relationship, with Greene describing it as a whirlwind in the best way.

The event, attended by senior government officials, diplomats, and representatives from various sectors, underscored the partnership’s importance.

Tuggar expressed gratitude for U.S. security cooperation and looked forward to continued collaboration.

The ceremony celebrated the strong bond between the two nations, committed to democracy, freedom, and shared values.
