Part of Nigeria’s delegation led by Vice President Shettima at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Switzerland. The goal is to attract foreign investment, as stated by Foreign Affairs Minister Tuggar.
The WEF, scheduled from January 15-19, 2024, will see participation from over 52 heads of state, including China’s Xi Jinping and Germany’s Olaf Scholz, along with 1500 business leaders. Key themes, such as transparency and accountability, align with Nigeria’s current economic direction.
Minister Tuggar emphasized the potential economic benefits for Nigeria, emphasizing the forum’s focus on transparency, consistency, and accountability. These principles are linked to Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing job creation, access to capital, inclusivity, and the rule of law.
Ambassador Tuggar highlighted the forum’s aim to address global challenges, particularly for developing countries. He noted, The WEF’s focus aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
VP Shettima will actively engage with global investors, participate in Nigeria-focused programs, and attend events promoting the country’s economic interests.
