The Nigeria Labour Congress announced on Tuesday the successful negotiation of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kano State government.
The agreement ensures that workers will receive N20,000, while pensioners will be entitled to N15,000 as wage awards, a response to the recent removal of the fuel subsidy.
Kabiru Inuwa, Chairman of the Kano State NLC chapter, confirmed the signing of the MoU to Vanguard, highlighting the commitment to a N20,000 wage for workers and N15,000 for pensioners.
Inuwa explained that pensioners would receive payments for three months, while workers would be compensated for six months, anticipating the realization of the minimum wage in the next four months.
The signing of the MoU took place on Tuesday in the state, as clarified by Chairman Inuwa.
