Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, the founder of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, expressed dismay at the recent Appeal Court decision ousting Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, deeming it a rude shock.
Aniebonam emphasized the party’s autonomy in determining its members and asserted that external entities lack the authority to challenge NNPP membership.
He urged party members to maintain faith in the legal process, anticipating a just resolution at the Supreme Court.
The Appeal Court’s ruling cited Yusuf’s alleged non-membership in NNPP during the election, subsequently declaring APC’s Nasiru Gawuna as the rightful governor.
The NNPP plans to appeal the decision at the Supreme Court.
