The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) is calling for stakeholders’ support to combat food insecurity in the country. NSE President, Engr. Margaret Oguntala, stressed the urgent need for action, noting that food security involves availability, accessibility, affordability, and quality.
She urged stakeholders to back food security initiatives and highlighted the potential of engaging the Diaspora to bridge the gap between local needs and resources.
The NSE aims to attract funding partners, including the Bank of Industry and the Nigerian Export-Import Bank, to assist farmers in expanding their agri-businesses and promoting economic empowerment and food security.
Speaking at the inaugural Engr. Ademola Isaac Olorunfemi, FNSE, FAEng Public Discourse and Dinner, Oguntala emphasized the importance of collective action to address food insecurity.
The NSE is dedicated to working with relevant stakeholders to find solutions to this pressing issue.
