In a recent Federal High Court session, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro testified about the airlifting of N1.219bn cash to support Ayodele Fayose’s election in Ekiti State.
The funds, originating from Col Sambo Dasuki, were moved due to Diamond Bank’s limitations.
Obanikoro denied personally taking out the money, attributing it to Dasuki.
The former minister detailed his involvement in coordinating activities for the Ekiti election in 2014 and clarified his association with Sylvan Mcnamara Limited.
The trial, addressing money laundering and theft charges totaling N6.9 billion, is set to resume on February 27, 2024.
