The Ogbomoso Recreation Club extends warm congratulations to General Oladayo Popoola on his 80th birthday. The club commends General Popoola for his remarkable career in the Nigerian military and his continuous efforts towards Ogbomoso’s progress.
They wish him good health and happiness while expressing gratitude for his dedication to community welfare.
Dr. Oladeji-Johnbrown and Dr. Samuel acknowledge General Popoola’s illustrious military career, highlighting his roles in various capacities including commanding officerships, directorships, and his significant contributions to the Armed Forces Command and Staff College.
They also commend his pivotal role in rejuvenating the Ogbomoso Recreation Club in 1988 and his subsequent leadership as its first chairman for a decade, now serving as its Life Patron.
The club offers prayers for General Popoola’s well-being and recognizes his pivotal role in Ogbomosoland’s development.
His contributions range from founding Bowen University and Liberty FM to establishing educational institutions like Omolola College and infrastructural projects such as the Ganzaki Recreation Centre.
Moreover, his philanthropic efforts have enriched community life, exemplified by his support for the Ogbomoso Central Mosque and multi-purpose halls.
Beyond Ogbomosoland, General Popoola’s impact extends to Oyo State, including his support for projects in Ibadan, Oyo, and Oke-Ogun regions.
