Ogun Reps Member Distributes Palliatives To Constituents Amid Fuel Subsidy Removal.

In response to the hardships brought about by the removal of fuel subsidy, Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga, Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, distributed food items to over 12,000 constituents.

The relief effort comprised rice, beans, garri, and cooking oil and aimed to alleviate the challenges faced by Nigerians during this trying period.

The distribution, spanning Monday to Wednesday, covered residents of Ikenne, Sagamu, and Remo North Local Government Areas within her federal constituency.

Hon. Onanuga ensured a fair and transparent process, reaching out to widows, individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups. Expressing gratitude, constituents appreciated both her generosity and the Federal Government’s support in facilitating the distribution.

In her address to journalists, Hon. Onanuga highlighted the temporary nature of the palliatives, acknowledging their insufficiency in fully addressing the crisis.

She urged the Federal Government to intensify efforts in assisting Nigerians cope with the subsidy removal fallout. Emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the most vulnerable, she reiterated the need for sustainable solutions to uplift all citizens.

Commending the government’s initiative, Hon. Onanuga underscored the role of security in fostering economic stability. She stressed the need for a secure environment conducive to agricultural activities, essential for national food security and prosperity.

Looking ahead, she hoped for continued government support and similar interventions to ease the burden on her constituents and the nation at large.
