The Famuyiwa administration is proving that the clear advantage of good governance is that you can do more with less. Thus, he rejoiced with the people Abule-Egba, especially Olawale Cole residents on this significant day, marking the flag-off of the contruction of Olawale Cole Street which links U-turn to the Main Road, been part of the road project enlisted in the 114 Lagos roads project.
He said the road had been on the Front Burner since 2018 but its construction has eventually come to reality today.
Hon. Famuyiwa said today is, therefore, not only for the flag-off of the road project, but the commencement of the construction and the commemoration of a promise kept by my administration to bring development closer to the people. He assured the project will be properly monitored, of best standard and timely delivered.
As the construction begins, I want to urge the residents to be of help to the contractors so that the road can be completed in due time. Upon completion, I believe the project will permanently transform the lives of the citizens in and around Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA. It will alleviate the hardship faced by commuters and bring significant benefits to the lives of traders, school children and even commuters, he admonished.
The CDC Chairman, Mr. Ernest Kasunmu lauded the Council Chairman for keeping to his promise and just like Oliver Twist, requested for the intervention of the Council on two major roads. He further encouraged residents to pay their rates and taxes thereby getting more dividends of democracy.
Present at the ground-breaking ceremony were also the Secretary to the Local Government, High Chief Akinwumi James Odeyemi and the supervisors, the Leader of the House, Hon. Olatunji Ogunyemi and the other Councillors, the SSAs, G-14 leaders – Pa Philip Olamigoke, Hon. Baruwa, the Management Team led by the Council Manager, Mr. Olugbenga Shogbanmu, the Council Treasurer, Mrs Ayodele AbdulSalam, Council Engineer, Engr. Ope Ganiu Omotola, the Chief of Staff, Hon. Aderemi Adeyemo and his Deputy, the ward Chairmen, CDC Secretary, Mr. Shakiru Oguntola, and the residents of Olawale Cole Street and its environs.
