After a peace meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja on Friday, the Ondo State House of Assembly will convene today to discuss state affairs.
Among the key items on the agenda is the deliberation on whether to designate Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the state deputy governor, as the acting governor due to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s prolonged absence.
A source revealed, The House plans to convene today, and Aiyedatiwa may be declared acting governor based on the outcome of the meeting with President Tinubu.
Speaker Olamide Oladiji, when contacted, stated that he would confirm the meeting’s status after an ongoing session.
President Tinubu had met with the Assembly and the APC leadership in Ondo state last Friday, aiming to resolve the protracted political crisis.
Following the meeting, the Assembly abandoned the impeachment move against the deputy over alleged misconduct.
Aiyedatiwa expressed his commitment to moving past events and involving all stakeholders in the resolution of the crisis that arose upon Governor Akeredolu’s return from a lengthy medical vacation in Germany.
