Over 500 lawyers rallied under The Guardians of Democracy and Rule of Law to support Dr. Yusuf Nasir Gawuna, the APC candidate in the Kano State governorship election case at the Supreme Court.
The announcement was made during a press conference in Abuja, responding to the dispute over the February election results. Barrister Joseph E. Onwudiwe, the spokesperson, expressed concern about potential pressure on the judiciary and emphasized the judiciary’s vital role in upholding democracy.
The lawyers urged the Supreme Court to rule impartially, standing against disruptions and attempts at blackmail. They called for immediate electoral reforms to safeguard democracy from fraud and manipulation.
