Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has criticized President Bola Tinubu for signing the N2.17 trillion supplementary budget, stating that the President overlooked critical emergencies and pressing needs in the country.
Obi emphasized that the budget allocations reflect a lack of awareness of the nation’s dire crisis.
The supplementary budget, assented to by Tinubu in the presence of Senate President Godswill Akpabio and House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, includes allocations for security, a student loan scheme, wage awards, and other controversial expenditures that sparked public outrage.
