More than a week since the Christmas Eve attacks in Plateau communities, including Bokkos, Barkin Ladi, and Mangu Local Government Areas, residents are yet to return home.

The attacks left over 150 people dead, with reports of ongoing violence and property destruction, leaving the affected areas abandoned.

Despite the devastation, there is a notable absence of security presence in these communities, raising concerns about safety and the urgent need for residents to return.

The recent visit by Gideon ParaMallam’s Peace Foundation to sympathize with the affected people highlights the desperate situation and the call for justice and peace in Bokkos.

The burning of the paramount ruler’s palace further reflects the anger and frustration among residents.

The local government officials and the new Commander of Operation Safe Haven, Lt. Col. Isaac Indiorhwer, address the concerns, assuring efforts to restore peace and dispelling fears of fresh attacks.

The situation remains tense, emphasizing the critical need for a resolution and the return of residents to their communities. [Source: PunchNG]
