President Bola Tinubu engaged in discussions with King Charles of England in Dubai ahead of the COP28 Climate Action Summit in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The meeting focused on mutual interests, and President Tinubu is set to present Nigeria’s stance on climate action on Friday during the summit, addressing critical issues like renewable energy and climate financing.
President Tinubu, who departed Abuja for Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, is actively participating in the World Leaders’ Summit on December 1 and 2, 2023.
His agenda includes delivering a national statement, participating in sideline events on foreign direct investment for climate action, and contributing to discussions on Nigeria’s Energy Transition Plan.
The Nigerian delegation at COP28 aims to forge new bilateral partnerships to support the implementation of Nigeria’s climate change initiatives.
These collaborations will cover areas such as Energy Transition, Article 6 Projects, Internationally Transferred Mitigation Outcomes, Technology Transfer, Capacity Building, and Methane Mitigation.
President Tinubu is accompanied by top aides, ministers, governors, and lawmakers to the summit.
