During the budget hearings, the Senate has urged President Bola Tinubu to dismiss any heads of ministries, departments, or agencies (MDAs) who do not physically attend the ongoing interactive sessions regarding the 2024-2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio emphasized the importance of these sessions for the success of the administration and warned that appointees or agency heads who do not take them seriously should be reconsidered.

The Senate is working on strategies to generate more government revenue, given the current economic challenges facing Nigeria, including global events like the Russian-Ukraine war and the Israeli-Palestine conflict.

The interactive session was adjourned to allow the invited agencies more time to provide the required documents.
