The body of tenant Caleb Chiemele was discovered in a short-let apartment on the LSDPC Estate, off Freedom Way, in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State.
Chiemele had been staying there since May 12. On June 12, concerned individuals, including the apartment owner Adewole Olufemi, noticed his absence and saw him lying motionless on the floor through a window.
The police were alerted, and officers from the Maroko Division forced open the door to find Chiemele dead. The body was taken to the morgue, and an investigation has begun to determine the cause of death.
A source reported that the police found Chiemele’s lifeless body after forcing entry into the locked apartment. The corpse was sent for an autopsy.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of Chiemele’s death. Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin said the command is working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
This event has raised concerns about the safety and security of short-let apartments in the area.
