The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, has assigned three Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs) to oversee security during the upcoming gubernatorial election in Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi.
This deployment aims to ensure a transparent and credible election, with measures like vehicular movement restrictions in place.
Security personnel are warned against accompanying politicians to polling booths, and unauthorized use of sirens and other violations will face sanctions.
