The Lagos State Government has announced the closure of the Third Mainland Bridge on Tuesday, January 9, for ongoing repairs.
The closure, initiated in November 2023, aims to facilitate repair works on specific sections, with a focus on the Iyana Oworonshoki-Adeniji Adele segment.
The bridge, previously reopened on December 21 for the Yuletide period, will follow a scheduled opening pattern from 12 am to 12 noon and vice versa to ease commuting challenges.
Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, with alternatives such as Eko Bridge suggested during specific time slots.
The state Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, emphasized the importance of cooperation with traffic management officials to ensure a smooth traffic flow and road safety.
